Hey everyone!

Today’s topic is a special one for all my Business Bitch photographers.

We’re going to talk about ways to make sure your online marketing is on top of its game, so you can land clients and/or sell your photography like you never have before.

Okay?

1) Put WORDS – actual words – on Your Website

I know that sounds obvious, but THIS, by far, is the #1 faux pas I see professional photographers doing.

Yes, you DO, ABSOLUTELY want to show off your photography on your website… but you also have to use your website to TALK TO PEOPLE & tell them what you can do for them.

At a bare minimum, put an emotional hook on your homepage, followed by a description of what you do.

And no matter what, put a call to action on every page – to get in touch with you about booking your services!

I know that sounds incredibly basic, but at least 70% of the photographer websites I’ve reviewed over the years DO NOT do this… so doing so will really help you stand out.

Plus, TELLING people what they can do is a huge comfort to them. If you tell them to book a 15-minute call with you, they will. If you tell them to send an email if they’re interested in your services, they will.

But if you don’t tell them what to do, they’ll most likely go & hire someone else who does tell them what to do. Which is not what you want.

You want it to be clear & easy for people to understand HOW to work with you.

2) Offer a Freebie that Gives Advice

For most people, hiring a photographer is not an everyday, common occurrence. Meaning they have no idea what they’re shopping for.

If they’re booking wedding photography, for example, I’d say that’s something most people would do AT MOST three times in their entire life. Probably less. Maybe just once.

Otherwise, they may be booking you for professional headshots… which would happen at most once per year… or to take landscape, product, or real estate photos… which is also not that common, unless they’re a full-out real estate agency… in which case they probably already have a go-to photographer.

So creating a freebie that gives advice on how to shop for a photographer & what to look for will REALLY set you apart from the pack.

Plus, it’s a chance for them to get to know you a little bit, before they have to make the scary decision to put down an expensive deposit before they know if you’re a scam or if you’re worth it or not.

Not to mention, you can totally make sure you tick all the marks on your “what to look for” advice… to make things even easier for them & land yourself some more clients!

3) Use Video of Yourself Talking

And guys, this doesn’t have to be professional, studio-level video.

If videography is a thing you provide, some of it can be, but don’t underestimate the power of a video of you talking 1:1 with your smartphone camera.

Take people behind the scenes in your photoshoot setup. Show them how you go the extra mile.

If your current clients are down with it, show them an actual photoshoot & tell them what’s happening.

You can post these videos on Instagram, YouTube, AND your website.

Letting people see you working like this will really ease their resistance to hiring you, because they can see that you’re earnest & that you work hard.

Most photographers don’t do this, because they prefer to stay behind the camera lens, but once you practice a few times, it’s actually really easy & can seriously up the number of client inquiries you have coming in.

Conclusion: Book a Free Call With Me

If this video has given you some great ideas, I am so happy. There is so much potential for photographers to be amazing at online marketing… especially since most of their peers just aren’t doing a very good job of it at all.

If you’d like to make a plan to easily grow your online marketing efforts so you can see the payoffs of more sales & more clients…. which means more money for you… go to BusinessBitch.as.me to book a free 30-minute discovery call with me.

These calls are no-obligation, and we’ll talk about where you’re at now, your goals, and the things you’re having a hard time getting past to get there.

Again, that’s BusinessBitch.as.me – and I’ll see you soon!

Bye! 😘
